The working principle of a diesel generator is to convert the chemical energy of diesel into mechanical energy through the combustion process of the diesel engine, and then convert the mechanical energy into electrical energy through the generator. Working principle of diesel engine
The working process of a diesel engine includes four strokes: intake, compression, power generation, and exhaust.
Intake stroke: The piston descends, the intake valve opens, and air enters the cylinder through the air filter.
Compression stroke: The piston moves upward, the intake and exhaust valves close, the air is compressed, and the temperature and pressure rise, preparing for combustion.
Work stroke: As the compression stroke approaches its end, the fuel injector sprays high-pressure atomized diesel into the cylinder. The diesel mixes with high-temperature and high-pressure air and self ignites, producing high-pressure gas that pushes the piston down, drives the crankshaft to rotate, and converts chemical energy into mechanical energy.
Exhaust stroke: The piston moves upward, the exhaust valve opens, and the exhaust gas after combustion is discharged from the cylinder through the exhaust pipe, completing one working cycle.
Working principle of generator
The crankshaft of a diesel engine rotates to drive the generator, converting mechanical energy into electrical energy through the principle of electromagnetic induction.
DC generator: The armature rotates in a magnetic field, cutting magnetic field lines to generate current, which is output through a carbon brush.
AC generator: The rotor rotates to cut the magnetic field lines in the stator, generating alternating induced current, which is output by the stator coils.
